Punjab Cong suffers jolt in CM’s district with Congressmen joining SAD

Leaders from AAP and BJP also join SAD, Sukhbir S Badal welcomes them into the SAD fold 

Chandigarh, July 31 – The Punjab Congress suffered a jolt in chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s home district of Patiala with leaders from Ghanaur, Sanaur and Rajpura constituencies joining the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the presence of its President Sukhbir Singh Badal here. Welcoming the Congress leaders into the party fold, the SAD President assured them due honor and recognition in the party. Senior party leader Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, legislator Harinder Singh Chandumajra and the SAD President’s OSD Charanjit Singh Brar were also present on the occasion.

Mr Sukhbir Badal welcomed senior Congress leader and Punjab Brahman Sabha vice president Hem Raj Sharma into the party along with Parshuram Core Committee vice president Kulwinder Sharma besides Rajesh Sharma, Sushil Sharma, Shamsher Singh Saini, Varinder Kumar, Dharmpal Sharma, Bharpur Singh, Sandeep Sharma, Dharmpal Nabha, Prince Patiala, Suraj Bhan and Bharpur Ghagga from Ghanaur.

He also welcomed senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sukhjinder Singh Tanda who is also the former chairman of the Doodan Sadan market committee,Gurdev Singh Namdhari, former Sursitgarh cooperative society President Bakshish Singh and Hari Singh Theri, all from Sanuar.

Mr Badal also welcomed senior BJP leaders who joined the party from Rajpura including BJP district media incharge Krishan Kukreja, former councillor, Ravi Kumar Luthra, Ravi Mehtab, Amandeep Sharma, Pardeep Pandit, Karan Mittal, Sat Pal, Ram Lal Kalra and Om Parkash.
