Bathinda, June 29 – Giani Zail Singh School of Architecture and Planning (GZSSAP), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, (MRS-PTU) organized a one-day online research seminar cum book launch here on Tuesday.
The research seminar was conducted by Ar. Pappal Suneja, who is a Design Researcher, Writer, Architect, Journalist & Academician based in Germany. He is presently a Researcher and Adjunct faculty in Bauhaus, Dessau, Germany.
The event was attended by about 80 students and faculty members of the Department, which was planned and organized by Ar. Kapil Arora under the Chairmanship of Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot, Head of Department.
The speaker was welcomed and introduced by Ar. Ripu Daman Singh informed the audience about the relevance of journalism and the importance of Bauhaus teaching in the present day scenario. Bauhaus was one of the first schools of architecture pioneered by master architect Walter Gropius of Germany.

The expert speaker, Ar. Pappal Suneja spoke about the relevance of research in architectural education, the process of design as projection, teaching pedagogy applications in Bauhaus. He also released his fourth book as author, titled Revered Reminiscences. The book documents various important events, facts, and commentaries related to modern architecture. The various topics have been judiciously mixed to include the larger context on the multi-dimensional architectural profession. A special highlight on Design methodology is particularly useful for budding architects and makes fascinating reading.
The book also includes interviews with leading architects like Ar. K. Jaisim from Bangalore. The compilation is an eye-opener for all those who have swept away by the commercialization movements. The author shared two hard copies of the book for the MRSPTU library.
Ar. Pappal Suneja has authored 4 books, edited 2 books, International Correspondent for ADA Magazine, and many other journals. Apart from this, he has authored more than 100 articles in leading journals, magazines, online portals, etc.
The students actively interacted with the speaker and sought answers to their queries. The speaker also guided the students on the avenues available to them for journalism and research. Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot, Head of Department, GZS School of Architecture & Planning, MRSPTU talked about the tremendous progress in research in architecture. He also proposed the vote of thanks.

The officials also appreciated the faculty and students for fostering a partnership with Ar. Pappal Suneja is registered with Bauhaus Germany, one of the leading schools of architecture in the world.
