CM calls on Sarpanches to implement ‘Corona Mukat PindAbhiayan’ at grass root level during virtual program

Sangrur, May 18 – Taking serious note of the increasing cases of Covid -19 pandemic in the rural areas, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today called on the village sarpanches and other representatives to implement the ‘Pendu Covid Fateh Program’ at the grass root level.  He called upon all the Sarpanches of the state to take the lead in the Corona War and create awareness among the people so that this deadly virus of Corona could be completely eradicated.

 During the virtual program, Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh said that the state government was committed to provide food kits to the needy Covid positive people.  He said that medicines, oxygen, vaccines and other necessary arrangements have been made for the treatment of covid positive patients so that the mortality rate due to corona could be curtailed.

 Earlier, the Rural Development Minister Mr. Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa appealed to the Sarpanches to keep ‘thikri pehra’ at the village level.  He said that in case of mild cough, fever and cold, covid test should be done immediately so that the disease could be detected at an early stage. He said that it was the responsibility of every Sarpanch, Panchayat to ensure that the precautions and guidelines released by the health department were followed to prevent the spread of Covid disease.

 Health Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu appealed to the people to take medicine only from a specialist.  He said that this battle could not be won without the cooperation of Panchayats.  Punjab Chief Secretary Vinni Mahajan shared the efforts being made by the government for prevention of Covid with the Panchayats. Dr. K. K. Talwar shared the full outline of the program with the Panchayats.

 During this virtual program Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir from village Balial of District Sangrur, SSP Mr. Vivek Sheel Soni, SDM  Dr.  Karmjit Singh, Sarpanch Balial Amrel Singh along with Panchayat representatives participated.

 Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ranvir said that the Pendu Covid Fateh Program launched by the state government in the public interest would be effectively implemented at every village level to control the rising cases of Corona in the villages.  He said that the required vaccine was available for the people between the ages of 18 to 45 years. He said that vaccination drive was being carried out at 14 places through camps. He said that all the departments in the district were working diligently for the management of Covid .
